Global warming
This is dangerous…bugs, water levels, animal population and vegetation missing the proper cycle to refresh the earth. However, being a person who’s mind, body and soul awakens with the sun I find myself also being very grateful for today. With this seasonal inspiration, we moved the elevated garden to the deck. The ground was warm enough to start some plantings like butter lettuce, broccoli, sugar snap peas, eggplant, tomatoes. Just warm enough to be outside the ENTIRE Day!
Sleeping In
My family allowed me to sleep in for the first time in about a year. I get up early for work so I naturally wake up before 6am every day, yes even on the weekends being left in a perpetual state of exhaustion. However, today for some reason my body said NO! I slept until 10:12 with only the hum of a fan and the sun to finally wake me up. I was in shock and confused…but so refreshed.
I started the day with a doughnut left over from family night a warm cup of coffee, on the gazebo watching the kids playing in the yard. Then hubby came out to help with outdoor chores and move the garden bed to the deck. Then lunch and more hanging out with neighbors and all the hibernators who have been indoors for the last month. It’s almost 4pm and my mother-in-law is on her way for dinner as we continue to enjoy this beautiful day.
70 Degrees in February
It feels good but I know it is bad. I know in mid February 70 degree weather is a warning not an invitation to play time. We are doing our part to recycle, grow our own organic food, decrease toxic products in our home and minimize our footprint. We hope it makes a difference. In the meantime, I choose to enjoy this nice day. It is still a blessing for me and my family. For the homeless who are not in shelters. This seasonal inspiration is a blessing for those of us who need the sun to feel good ….
